Disclaimer, Purpose, and Approach

This blog is intended to serve as a venue for announcements of and links to a variety of events, web sites, and resources of interest to the general membership of the Iowa Geographic Information Council. In addition, it should serve as a site for informal discussion (commenting) of some of the issues and ideas that float through and around the Iowa GIS community. It is not expected that the discussion here will always reflect the official (or even the general) position of IGIC as an organization or its members.

This mechanism serves as another avenue to getting information to you. Posts should be short thoughts, relevant links, notes about upcoming events, and announcements with a peppering of insight and commetary. This blog should not be construed as replacing any of IGIC’s current mechanisms of communication. The website, email lists, and most importantly the meetings of committees and the Board will continue on.

Please feel free to contribute. Membership and comments are free. Just remember that this blog is open to the internet. This blog should become a resource for anyone interested in the coordination of geospatial activities in Iowa.
