December 2023 Lunch & Learn: Towards the Production of an Iowa State Atlas for K-12

The December 2023 Lunch & Learn will be on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at noon.

This presentation addresses prospects for developing an Iowa atlas tailored to the state's K-12 curriculum. Existing atlases from other states offer inspiration for Iowa educators to generate a similar product that works across subjects and grade levels. Such an endeavor would promote teacher preparation in geography as well as geographic literacy for Iowa students.

Thomas Larsen is the 2024 President of the National Council for Geographic Education (NCGE) and Co-Coordinator of the Geographic Alliance of Iowa (GAI). He teaches geography at the University of Northern Iowa (UNI).
