2026 IGIC Board Election Nominations
It is time to elect the new IGIC Board. Recently, the current IGIC Board approved changes to the composition of the IGIC Board. The number of seats is being reduced from 25 to 11. These 11 seats will be made up of the chair, vice-chair, past-chair, secretary, treasurer, and 6 open positions. These 6 board members provide strategic guidance and coordination for one of IGIC’s three foundational areas of Government & Sustainability, Data & Standards, or Membership & Engagement. Together, they will oversee the committees within their assigned area, ensuring alignment with IGIC’s mission to advance geospatial excellence across Iowa. These 6 positions will be two-year terms offset with 3 being elected each year. Since this is a new make-up, we will be electing 3 members for two-year terms and 3 members for one-year terms. The one-year terms will be up for election again next year, along with vice-chair, secretary, and treasurer being elected every year. The current chair and vice-chair positions are guaranteed to be on the Board for the next year. Travis Gerrish will be on as past-chair and Freddy Segura will be the new chair.
