USDA Geospatial Data Gateway

The Geospatial Data Gateway or Geo-Data Gateway provides easy and consistent access to natural resource data. You can search for available data by geographic area such as county or state, use our point and click map tool to find your area of interest; using a gazetteer, or by entering latitude and longitude coordinates. You can also search for data by theme, such as digital ortho imagery, digital elevation models (DEMs), or soils. You can then view a thumbnail, or sample of the data you've chosen to know if you want a copy of the data. If you do, you can either download the data directly onto your machine, pick it up via our FTP site, or order it on media such as CD.

Iowa Geographic Map Server

This site provides free access to Iowa geographic map data through an on-line map viewer, ArcIMS map services, or through GIS software extensions. The site was developed by the Iowa State University Geographic Information Systems Support and Research Facility in cooperation with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The site was first launched in March 1999.

Natural Resources Geographic Information Systems Library

The Natural Resources Geographic Information System (NRGIS) Library is the geographic information system (GIS) developed and maintained by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR). It is a collection of more than 15,000 geographically referenced databases. All geo-referenced data is projected in Universal Transverse Mercator, Zone 15, North American Datum of 1983. All datasets have Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) metadata. The Geographic Information Section of the Iowa Geological Survey coordinates and manages the system for the DNR.

It provides public access to high-quality, geospatial data and information from multiple partners to help support decisionmaking by resource managers and the public. The National Map is the product of a consortium of Federal, State, and local partners who provide geospatial data to enhance America's ability to access, integrate, and apply geospatial data at global, national, and local scales.

Information available includes roadway, structure, rail-crossing, aviation and boundary layers with links to other Iowa DOT map and data products.
