GIS Manager Position Available in Platte City, Missouri

Position Title:

GIS Manager

Department:

Platte County Assessor’s Office, Platte City, Missouri

Duties:

Create and split out parcel layer based upon legal descriptions, surveys, and plat maps, ownership research, data entry, interaction with public and government officials. Manage daily and end of year paperwork and reports on parcel splits. Manage county’s GIS website (maps.co.platte.mo.us). Assemble GIS shapefile and Access database information for sales.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of ESRI suite of ArcDesktop GIS including ArcMap and ArcCatalog. Ability to read legal metes and bounds descriptions. Communication skills,
both written and oral. Ability to work with multiple departments. 2 or 4 year degree in Geography, GIS, or related field and 2-5 years experience with cadastral mapping or GIS, with at least 1 year management experience.

Preference will be given to candidates with any of the following experience: Microsoft Access, DB2, ArcSDE, ArcIMS, web design and web languages.

Salary:

Based upon experience / education.
