Creating a Firmette

FEMA has an online location where you can create custom floodplain maps of specific areas. It creates an 8.5 x 11 map that includes the panel number, scale, etc but is much easier to work with than the large panels and photocopiers.

Here is a link describing the process for creating a "firmette". http://www.fema.gov/media/fhm/lomrf/mschowmakefirmette.pdf I would hope that this would be easier than trying to work with the larger maps and also would produce a more helpful copy for files or handing out to the public.
