Preliminary Agenda:

  1. We will have the Geodetic Advisor from Minnesota, Dave Zenk with us.  He will give us a short introduction to himself and his role as a Geodetic Advisor.
  2. The IDOT Base Station project.  It looks like it might actually happen now.  General discussion.
  3. The Geodetic Website.  Discussion on how to promote participation among agencies.
  4. Attached is a Word document with a policy backed by the National Governors Association in regards to a national GPS system.  General discussion.


  • For those meeting here in Newton for the first time, the following are directions.
    • Going down I-80, get off at the Highway 14 exit.
    • Go north on Hwy 14.
    • Turn right at the 4 way stop. (you will see a school on the NW corner)
    • Take this road (1st Ave W) under the bridge and into town.
    • You will unmistakably see our grand stone courthouse on your left on the corner of 1st ave and 1st st.
    • On the east side of the courthouse, enter the door on the right which will lead you to our basement.
    • Go down the hall and take a right.
    • Our office will be on the right.
