Other Committee Examples
Up one levelThroughout its existence, IGIC has seen it necessary to create and dissolve Committees depending upon the current state of the organization. Committees which have been dissolved include:
Cadastral Committee
Dissolved at the July 2004 meeting in response to the overlap between this Committee's assigned activities and the evolution of the Iowa Counties Information Technology (ICIT) organization.
GPS
Reinvisioned at the July 2006 meeting in response to the lack of activity with this committee. The GPS Committee activities will now fall largely under the scope of the Geodetic Control Committee.
I-Team
Dissolved at the October 2004 meeting in response to the lack of activity of this Federal program with regards to Iowa's geospatial needs.
Newsletter
Dissolved at the October 2004 meeting due to changing means of communication between IGIC and the Iowa GIS Community. Development of this website and email communications technologies have replaced the role once played by the IGIC newsletter.
Non-Profit Status
On October 21, 2003 IGIC incorporated as a 501(c)(3) under chapter 504A of the Iowa Code, 2002.
Weather, Climate & Environment
Functions and activities of this Committee were re-incorporated into the Natural Resources Committee by Board action at the October 2004 meeting.
